Tory Read has been a photographer since she first picked up a camera in her early teens. She has lived and photographed in many countries in Europe, Asia, the Pacific and Central and South America. Throughout her career, Read has been particularly interested in photographing people whose experiences are routinely overlooked by the mainstream media.

Read makes a living photographing and writing stories and essays for U.S. and international donors and aid organizations. She lives in Denver, Colorado.
